Flooding Continues Despite Days of Sunshine. Three Local Rivers Above Flood Stage.
The massive rains we started the year with have flood warnings still in effect for the Calcasieu, Sabine and Mermentau rivers.
We will start from the West and move East. The Sabine River near Deweyville is just inched over flood stage and that flood warning continues until further notice.
The Calcasieu River is about one foot over flood stage at Old Town Bay. It is expcexted to fall below flood stage sometime tomorrow morning. The Calcasieu River has also risen above flood stage near Oberlin.
The Mermentau River has crested near Mermentau but is still close to four feet over flood stage.
The good news is that there is no significant chance of rain forecast for the next ten days.
