Dress Code Approved For Jefferson Davis Parish School Employees
A student dress code has been in place at Jefferson Davis Parish schools since 2000, but now a new policy will set a standard for for teachers and staff members as well.
According to the American Press, this parishwide policy some of the prohibited attired includes visible face piercings or distracting tattoos, frayed jeans, flip-flops and low necklines. This decision comes after some principals brought attention to the relaxed style choices made by some employees.
Employees who don’t comply with the dress code will be subject to disciplinary action, including an evaluation form placed in their permanent file and a warning letter in their personnel folder. After a third violation, an employee could face termination.
