Every year around this time, we start keeping an eye out on the tropics and the gulf. Why? Because it's the beginning of hurricane season...and this year is no different. In fact, this season has already kicked off with a bang. We have a tropical system - Cristobal - that made landfall in Louisiana YESTERDAY. People, we're just at the beginning of the season, and we've already had three named storms. We've still got MONTHS to go...

But, anyways...as they always are, the names for the 2020 storms have been decided on, and they're ready to go. You can actually find them at FarmersAlmanac.com. If you haven't seen the list yet, it can be found below:

  • Arthur
  • Bertha
  • Cristobal
  • Dolly
  • Edouard
  • Fay
  • Gonzalo
  • Hanna
  • Isaias
  • Josephine
  • Kyle
  • Laura
  • Marco
  • Nana
  • Omar
  • Paulette
  • Rene
  • Sally
  • Teddy
  • Vicky

There you have it. These are the official names for storms this season. Did your name make the list? Or, did someone you know have their name make the list?

I guess Marco is pretty close to my name, but it's not Mark, so to me, it's not the same. I'd be alright if we didn't actually make it that far down the list, though. But, if we do, at least we know what the official names will be...
