Defense Shines in Cowboys Win
McNeese's Defense with Attitude took care of business in Abilene Saturday evening as the Cowboys beat Abilene Christian 13-7. It was the 5th straight win for McNeese (5-1 3-1). The Pokes are now 5-0 all time vs ACU.
The Cowboys struggled on offense, although they out gained the Wildcats 338-138. The lone McNeese touchdown was a pass from James Tabery to Darious Crawley. Gunner Raborn added field goals of 32 and 27 yards. Justin Pratt picked up 109 yards on the ground and Kent Shelby extended his reception streak to 30 games.
On defense, the Cowboys held ACU to 138 total yards, 24 rushing and 114 through the air. The 1 touchdown the Wildcats scored was the first the defense had allowed in 9 quarters of play. QB Dallas Sealey finished the night completing 18 of 35 passes and 1 TD. He was sacked twice. BJ Blunt and Andre Fuller each had a sack.
The Cowboys will take next week off and return to Cowboy Stadium on the 21st to celebrate homecoming vs Incarnate Word.
