McNeese scored on their first possession of the game and cruised to a 33-14 homecoming victory over Abilene Christian Saturday evening in Cowboy Stadium. The win improved the Pokes to 4-3 in the Southland Conference and 5-4 overall. It was the 200th win for Mcneese in Cowboy Stadium

McNeese drove 51 yards in 7 plays on their first possession with Justin Pratt scoring from 4 yards out to give McNeese the 7-0 lead. The Cowboys fumbled on their next possession giving ACU a short field and the Wildcats tied the game at 7-7. Gunner Raborn hit a 27 yard field goal to regain the lead for McNeese at 10-7. Raborn hit a 47 yarder to close out the 1st half and put McNeese up 19-7.

The Cowboys received the 2nd half kickoff and went 67 yards in 10 plays to make it 26-7. Pratt scored his second TD from 1 yard out for the score. Benjamin caught a touchdown pass from James Tabary to finish the Cowboy scoring in the 4th quarter. ACU scored late in the game for the 33-14 final.

Tabary finished the game 28-41 for 275 yards and 2 TDs and no interceptions. The Cowboys again struggled with their run game, picking up just 86 yards on 29 carries. The McNeese defense limited Abilene Christian to just 244 yards. ACU QB Dallas Sealey was sacked 5 times. Jammario Gross had 7 tackles and 2.5 sacks for the Pokes. Kent Shelby extended his game reception streak to 22 games.

Next up for McNeese is the nation's number one FCS team, Sam Houston State in Huntsville on Saturday.
