After a slow start, the McNeese Cowboys finished strong to pick up their first road win of 2019, 33-10 at Stephen F Austin. The Pokes improved to 5-4 and 3-3 in conference play. It is the first time the Cowboys have won two in a row this season.

The Cowboys trailed 7-3 after the first quarter. McNeese went on top 10-7 at the half. The Cowboys led 13-10 going into the fourth where they dominated by outscoring SFA 20-0. McNeese picked up 194 yards in the quarter and held the ball for 9:30. The offense converted five of six third downs. McNeese finished the game with 404 total yards.

Cody Orgeron completed 12 of 25 passes for 162 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 73 yards and scored on a 30-yard run. Justin Pratt picked up 144 yards on 21 carries and a TD. Cyron Sutton had three catches for 55 yards and 2 TDs. He has caught a touchdown pass in seven consecutive games. Bailey Raborn added two field goals.

On defense, Mcneese held the Lumberjacks to 254 total yards and just one touchdown. Darion Dunn had an interception. Kody Fulp had 10 tackles.

McNeese will play its final home game next Saturday afternoon when Northwestern State comes to Cowboy Stadium. Kickoff is at 4:00pm.
