Cowboys Continue August Camp

With the 2017 season opener at Nicholls State just two weeks away, the McNeese Cowboys are in the final week of their August camp. Beginning next week, the Cowboys will begin focusing on their Aug. 31st meeting with the Colonels in Thibodaux.

In Saturday's scrimmage in Cowboy Stadium, the defense dominated early, shutting down the run game. But the offense answered with an air attack that helped produce nearly 300 yards of total offense and three touchdowns by the end of the 85 play scrimmage.

The Pokes will have one final scrimmage on Saturday morning. The team will work more on situational aspects during that time, as well as building the depth chart for the season's first game sports news. Next week, the Cowboys will begin concentrating on Nicholls State and the opening of Southland Conference play.
