Breaking News- Bryce Perkins Sentenced

It Took almost a year and a half. But Bryce Perkins received his sentence today for the killing of Daniel Gueringer.

Judge Ron Ware handed down the sentence of life in prison today on the killer of Daniel Gueringer. A jury found Perkins guilty of the crime back in February of 2011 but, because of various legal delays, the sentence was just handed down today.

Perkins shot and killed Daniel Gueringer following a disturbance at a July 4th Party in 2009.

Perkins told the court he'd do anything if he could take back what happened the night Gueringer was shot and killed.

Gueringer's mother Sandra Gueringer was allowed to address the court. In her address she said, "Our family would like to thank our judicial system for bringing about justice today, for the taking of Daniel's life. Daniel was a very loving son, brother, family member."

Perkins defense attorneys are expected to raise various legal issues on appeal.
