McNeese ran its record to 7-0, 6-0 in conference play with a 47-27 win at Cowboy Stadium on Saturday night. Things started out slowly for the Pokes as Ed Eagan returned the opening kickoff back 97 yards to put Northwestern up 7-0, just 13 seconds into the game. The Cowboys tied it up at 7-all at the end of the 1st quarter.

The Cowboys led 14-10 at the half, and 27-20 after three quarters. But the Demons tied it again one play into the 4th quarter at 27-all. It was all Cowboys after that as McNeese scored the last 20 points of the game.

Daniel Sams lead the Cowboys with 115 yards rushing and two touchdowns. He also threw for three scores, including a 73-yard pass and run to Kent Shelby. Ryan Ross added 95 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

The Demons picked up 400 total yards and scored 27 points. Both are the most given up by the Cowboy defense in any game this season. The Demons are now 1-6 on the year, and have not won in Cowboy Stadium in 13 straight games

Next up for the Cowboys is a long trip to Abilene, Texas, for a 2:30 game next Saturday.
