My sister first introduced me to this song back in the mid 80s. I thought it was great. I had no idea that it would be around as long as it has, Usually, novelty songs are popular for awhile, but then go out of style.

I also had no idea that I would be playing that song on the radio every December because of my job. You can only imagine how many times I've heard this and all the other Christmas songs over my nearly 40 years in radio. It's not one of my favorite songs, but I know there are people who really like the song, so it's going to be bad news that P.C. Bob has his narrow little sights on the song.

After overthinking the subject and obsessing on his mission, he came up with the reasons that "Grandma" needs to be banned. First of all, it opens right up my making fun of the elderly. The stereotype of the typical  blue haired old lady is not being PC.

Also, and think about this: The loss of a loved one on Christmas Eve is just tragic, but these people treat it like a joke.Too make matters worse, it turns out that grandma has a drinking problem. There's nothing funny about a drinking problem, Songs like that need disclaimers at the end. You know, like the warnings on cigarette packs. "Warning!! This song is not PC and should therefor be banned

I mean just listen to how insensitive this song is:
