World’s Largest Grapefruit Farmed in Louisiana
Move over grapefruits around the world, there's a new king in town, and it's right here in Louisiana.
Every week I write about big wins in Louisiana. Some weeks, it's locals finally getting recognition for their talents on hit TV shows. Other weeks, it's little leaguers making it all the way on the international scale.
This week, it's about grapefruits.
One grapefruit, to be exact. A Louisiana couple in Slidell now own a record in the Guinness Book of World Records. The record, previously held in Brazil, is for the world's largest grapefruit... EVER.
This Louisiana grapefruit is massive, weighing in at seven pounds 14.64 ounces and spanning 28.75 inches in diameter.
