Born in Abbott, Tx outlaw country, blues, and jazz singer/songwriter Willie Nelson will be riding into town in a few months.

His six decade long career has spawned many hits and over 200 albums.  Willie was born during the Great Depression and was raised by his grandparents.  He wrote his first song at the tender age of seven and joined his first band at ten.

Nelson attended Baylor University where he worked as a local radio dj and gigged at honky-tonks all across Texas.  He dropped out two years later to pursue his music career full-time.

Besides being a multiple music hall of famer, Nelson has acted in over 30 films, co-authored several books, became a 5th degree black belt in Gong Kwon Yu Sul, and has been involved in activism for the use of bio-fuels and the legalization of marijuana.

Nelson will take the Grand Event Center stage Saturday, November 16th at 8pm at the Golden Nugget.
