Whether your afraid of snakes, dogs, or hogs, it begs the question...what animal is most likely to kill me?

The CDC has recently released a report of animal related deaths from each state.  In most cases those deaths are very rare and 20% of the states didn't even have enough data to make the report.

Let's take a look at some of the states around us including the Bayou State:

Alabama - Dogs.  Does Kim Jong-un have a summer home there?

Arkansas - Black Bears.  This one is hard to believe.  Black Bears usually avoid human contact like the plague.  In the majority of these cases the people admitted they were at fault.

Mississippi - Deer.  It's a combination of crash related deaths and hunters falling out of their tree stands while hunting said deer.

Texas - Flood-rafting Fire Ants.  You're probably as puzzled as I am...

Louisiana - Hornets, Wasps, and Bees.  Hornets and wasps can sting repeatedly without losing their stingers.  And God knows they're everywhere.  I've had to kill 2 wasps nests this summer so far on my porch.  And they are the hulking red wasps that look like they got shot with gamma rays in some scientific experiment gone wrong.  Also, when I was in college I mowed over a ground hornet nest, needless to say they lit me up bad and I was taking Epsom salt baths for a week.
