• McNeese redshirt-sophomore linebacker was named a FCS Midseason All-American by Phil Steele on Thursday.
• Saturday will be the first game against a ranked opponent this season and the first since falling to 11th-ranked UIW, 48-20, last October 1 in San Antonio.
• McNeese is 56-76-1 all-time against ranked opponents.
• Last win over a ranked opponent was against No. 16 UIW, 28-20, Oct. 23, 2021 in Lake Charles.
• 12-21 record against teams ranked in the top 5.
• UIW’s No. 5 ranking is the highest-ranked team to play in Cowboy Stadium since Oct. 19, 2013 when McNeese defeated No. 2 Sam Houston State 31-23.
• 33-22 record at home against ranked opponents.
• Saturday’s game will be the 10th meeting between McNeese and UIW with the Cowboys holding a 5-4 lead.
