The AP Preseason college football poll has just been released and two Louisiana college football teams have landed on the poll.

We reported last week that the USA Today Amway coaches preseason poll was released and LSU and the Ragin's Cajuns had landed on that poll. LSU was ranked at #13 and the Cajuns came in at #23.

Both LSU and Cajuns have also now landed on the AP preseason college football poll released yesterday. The LSU Tigers fell in the AP poll. They are ranked #16 in the AP poll.

The Ragin' Cajuns received the same ranking in the AP preseason poll as they did in the preseason coaches poll. which is #23. So the Cajuns are ranked #23 in both major polls.

The LSU begin the 2021 season on the road when they travel to take on UCLA in the Rose Bowl in California on September 4th. Then the Tigers return back to Baton Rouge to host the McNeese Cowboys which will feature a faceoff between coach and son.

Cody Orgeron is the starting quarterback for McNeese while his dad Ed Orgeron is the head coach of LSU. The game between LSU and McNeese will take place on September 11th.

The Cajuns will start their 2021 season on the road as well traveling to Austin to take on the Texas Longhorns.
