Trump Asks North Dakota Guv About Dream Game Against LSU [VIDEO]

For obvious Coronavirus related reasons, President Trump was unable to invite the FCS Championship North Dakota State football team to the White House for their prerequisite visit, but the Chief Executive did host the Governor Doug Burgum and asked him if he thought the champion Bisons could topple the LSU Tigers.

So, President Trump, as avid a college football fan as has inhabited the White House in a while (remember his visit to Tuscaloosa last season), had to ask Governor Burgum to give his thoughts about the possibility of an ND State, LSU "Dream Game."

FCS, by the way, stands for Football Championship Subdivision. It was formerly referred to as Division 1-AA. FBS teams (LSU, Clemson, etc.) play bowl games after their conference championships and do not have a full fledged playoffs like the slightly lower level FCS teams.

North Dakota State is a FCS powerhouse program, coming off of yet another national championship in the 2019 season. In fact, the Bisons long standing tradition of excellence has netted the Bismark school sixteen national titles going all the way back to 1965..

And last season was no exception. North Dakota State dominated their division once again, going 16-0 and winning another championship, a 28 to 20 win over James Madison University, claiming their third straight championship crown.It was LSU, likewise, in the FBS Division I, did the same thing, with a Joe Burrow led National Championship game win over Clemson.

So Burgum, ever the politician, responds to the President in a very diplomatic way...but still sure to stoke the competitive fire of everybody in the Bayou State.
