As of Sunday afternoon, all 11 gates at Toledo Bend Dam have been closed to two feet, from Fridays wide open purge at 4 feet. This means the dam engineers feel the lake is stable now. See Advisory #15

Throughout the weekend, individuals living throughout the Sabine River Valley have been on social media with photos of water creeping over their private docks, over the roads to their homes and into their yards.

With the closing of the gates a bit more, the large slug of water moving down the SRV should begin to abate, at least until the next big spring rainstorms.

Presently the forecast looks for rain tomorrow (Tuesday 3 April) in SETX and SWLA, but nothing is predicted severe enough to bring about another round of river flooding.
