Maybe I was just dropped on my head too many times as a kid but I kid you not, I have spent more than a few hours of my life wondering what really goes on inside my refrigerator when the door is closed. I know I am supposed to believe the light goes off, but what if it doesn't? What if there is some kind of inhuman gathering of my decaying vegetables and spoiling milk that happens when the door closes?

And like in the movie Toy Story, all the items return to their regular state the moment I open the door to look in? Yes, I have actually spent part of my life thinking of that. I am sure as a kid you did too. But as I got older, I stopped wondering what was going on with my fridge and began to concentrate on my dishwasher.

Stop me if you've heard someone say this in your house, "the dishwasher just doesn't get the dishes clean anymore". It happens around my house a lot. I think the reason we have that issue is more human than mechanical. The fact is, most of us don't know what actually happens inside a dishwasher until now.

Thanks to Tik Tok user @happyhome83 we now can see for ourselves what kind of spray action is going on when we close the door and push the button.

Wait a minute, you mean those spray arms actually need clearance to rotate and evenly spray water and soap over all of the dirty dishes? Yep, a blocked spray arm is probably the reason why your dishes don't come out of the wash as clean as you'd like them to be.

It turns out that this video has opened the eyes of many people who load the dishwasher every night. Maybe you could share this with the person who does that chore at your house. Maybe they'd understand you can't just cram all the dishes into the machine. They actually have to be strategically placed.

See, the more you know, the better you can do. And now we all know what happens when we close the door on our dishwasher and we also know the proper way to load the appliance for the best results.

Or,  you can keep doing it your way and we will rewash all the dishes before we put them away in the pantry or we will continue to wash them completely before we put them in the dishwasher. Either way, we're getting clean dishes with a lot of extra unnecessary work.

Life was so much easier when we only had to figure out how to make our toys work.
