Three LA State Parks Closing Amid COVID-19 Crisis
Now is the time of year that we usually get out to enjoy our beautiful Louisiana State Parks. But due to the coronavirus outbreak, some changes have been implemented by the State of Louisiana.
According to a press release sent out today, March 18th, 'Chicot State Park (near Ville Platte) and Lake Bistineau State Park (near Doyline) have been tagged as additional regional staging areas for the current medical situation in the state. As a service to the health and medical facilities in those areas, these state parks will be unavailable for public use effective Wednesday, March 18'. In addition, Bayou Segnette State Park is closed for staging as a possible overflow isolation facility Current visitors to these three parks only will be evacuated, and guests will be contacted by Louisiana State Parks reservations agents to transfer to another park or they can request a gift card or refund for the amount of their stay.
All other Louisiana State parks will remain open at this time, and will be operating during normal hours.
