I don't know about you, but until I saw this video I had never even heard of a Chapman Stick. It's a relatively new instrument that was invented back in the 70's, but never really gained a lot of popularity. The fact that this guy has really mastered this practically unknown instrument is only part of the fascination of the video.

The Chapman Stick is sort of a combination of a guitar, bass guitar and a piano. It's a 10 stringed instrument with the top strings playing the bass part and the bottom stings playing the chords and melody. To a certain extent that makes it somewhat like a guitar, but the instrument also is sort of like a piano in that it's played with both hands. Not like a guitar is played with both hands but with each hand actually plucking the strings.

It's hard to describe, but just watch this guy play this very difficult instrument.
