They took several different metrics into account when figuring out the list:

  • Good education
  • Lots of jobs
  • Low crime
  • Low poverty
  • Nice homes
  • High incomes
  • High population density (Lots of things to do)
  • Short work commutes
  • Health insurance

Hutchins is located around twenty minutes from the heart of Dallas, on the periphery of the surrounding suburbs. In theory, this ought to offer commuters a great basis. Not exactly. In actuality, the town is stuck in an economic wasteland, with almost one-third of its citizens surviving in conditions that are below the poverty line.

Hutchins is plagued by issues in addition to the economy. For example, the crime rate is consistently over 60% higher than the national average. Also, the majority of residents also put up with inadequate housing and schooling.
