To say that I was excited to see these pictures is an understatement.  Being a past Beetle owner, I have always watched out of the corner of my eye to see what Volkswagen is doing.

The first rumor I heard, was about the end of the Beetle.  My fears were put to ease though after making a trip to the Houston Auto Show a couple of years ago.  The word used was "redesigned."

Volkswagen announced that the 2012 Beetle will have a starting MSRP of only $18,995*. The all-new Beetle is an automotive icon reinvented, an agile, driver-oriented coupe that offers exceptional features and premium options, all at very competitive pricing.

The past version of the Beetle had some dependability issues that were hopefully corrected with this incarnation of the Bug.  The car should be on showroom floors this fall, and I think that $18995 is a good price for most cars these days.  I think this new look is for the better.  What do you think?
