DeRidder is the parish seat of Beauregard Parish with a population of around 10,588. The town was named for Ella de Ridder, the sister-in-law of a Dutch railroad financier, and was founded in 1903.
Sulphur is located in the middle of Calcasieu Parish with a population of around 20,065 residents. The town was founded in 1887 and is got its name from the sulfur mines that operated in the area.
Pitkin is located in Vernon Parish and has a population of around 572 residents.
