The Arts & Humanities Council of WLA and the City of Lake Charles are currently accepting nominations from the public for persons to be honored at the 2020 Virtual Mayor's Arts Awards ceremony. This ceremony will be presented over social media in a series of videos that will premiere the week of December 7-13.

The Mayor's Arts Awards honors those working in the arts and will be recognizing contributions of Southwest Louisiana's creative workers, patrons, and others who contribute to the region's culture. Mayor Nic Hunter will present the awards to each recipient.

The categories include Artist of the Year, Citizens of the Arts, Citizen of the Humanities, Arts Educator of the Year, Arts Organization of the Year, and Patron of the Year. The Keyston Awaard is also given to individuals who work behind the scenes.

If you would like to nominate an organization, individual, or group, you can download a nomination form here. Nominations must be received by the Arts Council office no later than Friday, November 20.
