Texas Keeping An Eye On The Next Possible Gulf Disturbance

Texas residents will be keeping a close eye on the Gulf of Mexico below the Yucatan peninsula and Cuba over the next week as the National Hurricane Center (NHS) predicts the development of a disturbance forming.

Hurricane season isn't over by a long shot, so we all need to keep our eyes peeled not only on the Atlantic, but as we saw from Hurricane Helene, a monster storm can happen in an instant in the Gulf of Mexico this time of year.

Gulf weather expert Meteorologist Zack Fradella is reporting that another area of interest in the lower Gulf/Caribbean Sea is popping up and my form a future storm.

There are two named storms (Isaac & Joyce) in the Atlantic Ocean, but it appears both of them won't find their way to the Gulf to threaten us.

Currently the National Weather Service has the area of interest in the lower Gulf/Caribbean Sea at a 30% chance of formation over the next seven days.

We won't truly know what will happen with this possible Gulf disturbance until sometime next week. So, there's nothing to worry about at this time for Texas residents, however, it's peak hurricane season so anything can happen.  We have to keep are eyes peeled on the Gulf and the Atlantic until hurricane season is officially over November 30th.
