Taysom Hill Reportedly Tears Tendon In His Injured Finger
If you felt news couldn't get worse for Saints fans, it just did.
Hill injured his middle finger (on his throwing hand) in the game last night against the Dallas Cowboys but was able to return to the game. It was very obvious that the injury was affecting his ability to throw the football upon his return. However, most Saints fans thought it may just be a bad sprain since Hill did get back in and play the entire game.
CBS Sports is reporting today that in fact the injury is much worse, it's a torn tendon. Reporter Patrik Walker says that his is the same injury that Russell Wilson suffered in Seattle and had to have surgery to repair the tendon.
He goes on to say that if this specific injury made Wilson a shell of himself as he struggles to regain strength in his middle finger, this may signal the end of Taysom playing QB in the NFL. This is terrible timing after he just signed the first ever hybrid position contract in NFL history.
It will be interesting to see who Sean Payton decides will start at QB against the Jets on Sunday December 12. Will it be a 0-4 Trevor Siemian or the rookie Ian Book? Only time will tell. Right now Taysom is in our thoughts and hope for a speedy recovery.
