The Louisiana State Senate had a busy Sunday approving two measures that they say will generate revenue for the 2016 budget.

Just a few years ago, during the presidential campaign, the word "transparency" was quite the buzzword. Everyone was promising more transparency in government and more public access to government records and such. Well, this week the Louisiana Senate passed a bill limiting secret records of the governor.

Some polls show Bill Cassidy with a 16 point lead over Mary Landrieu. In an effort to help Landrieu the senate may pass the Keystone Pipeline bill. Will it be enough to turn around the election. We wonder what you think?

It seems that some in government think that the job of government is to control the people they govern. I understand laws that protect people; but don't understand laws that regulate our everyday lives. Worse than just passing the law is all the government spending it takes to enforce the law. Such a law is being proposed right here in Louisiana.

If you are like a lot of us you wonder if anything was accomplished by the government shutting down. Did they not just put off the same fight until later? We wondered if you were happy with that and here is how you voted in our poll.
