It's without a doubt one of the funniest 'accidents' ever from the Tonight show with Johnny Carson. It all started innocently enough with Johnny asking Doc about Thanksgiving plans and it all went pear shaped from that point on.

Back in the hey day of The Tonight Show, anything could happen. What started out as a simple conversation about Thanksgiving turned into a comedy classic. Watch this classic exchange between Johnny Carson and Doc Severinsen about the trials and tribulations of past marriages and Thanksgiving.

Johnny Carson created many characters over his years on The Tonight Show.  Some great, some not so great.  In my opinion, the greatest of these was Carnac the Magnificent.  Here's what is probably the best Carnac skit ever...

Leno has been under the gun ever since taking over for Johnny Carson back in 1992. With all due credit to Leno, those were some amazingly large shoes to fill in the first place.  For many, Leno's version of The Tonight Show was a pale comparison to what Carson made the show. The battle for late night TV can be brutal and Jimmy Kimmel says that Leno just doesn't have the goods anymore.

It was on this date in 1962 that Johnny Carson became the host of the Tonight show. His first guests included Tony Bennett, Joan Crawford and Mel Brooks. There are so many classic moments and it was easy to pick just one. But here is one that really made me laugh. Possibly because of "been there done that"
