Last week, when I posted our first "Forgotten Classic Hit" I mentioned that some "forgotten" hits had actually made it to #1. Well' this week's Classic Hit not only made it to #1 on March 17, 1973, it was also the #1 Song of the Year in the U.S. and Great Britain. It was one of those songs that just didn't translate from MTV to the radio. While a lot of people enjoyed the eerie video, the song only made it up to #34 on the Billboard Top 40 charts. Just like a great many songs from every era, people vaguely remember it, but it's just not one of those "classic hits" that has a life of  it's own.
