2012 hurricane season

Getty Images I don't like even using the "H" word. We lived here in the studios for two weeks during Rita and that's enough for all of us. I know...I'm preaching to the choir on that one. With hurricanes, as with many other things, there a few accepted "truths" that just aren't (true, that is) See how much you really know about hurricanes.

There have already been two named storms in the Gulf so far. If you were here for Hurricane Rita, you know the dread we all feel at the beginning of a new season. We can't prevent hurricanes from coming, but we can be prepared.  The folks at Entergy have announced their plans should we take another hit. They also have some suggestion on how we can be prepared as well.

This is not a season we like to talk about, but here it is. For the next few months, we'll all be monitoring the Gulf a little closer and making preparations should a storm decide to head out way.
