System Over Georgia Has 80% Chance Of Becoming Barry
This is a first for us. There is a weather system over the state of Georgia that has the potential of becoming our next tropical system.
That's right, this tropical system would be homegrown and come from the United States. Forecasters now give it an 80% chance of development.
The weather event is currently over Georgia but a cold front is coming down which will push this system south, right into the Gulf of Mexico. Forecast models show that once the system enters the Gulf, it will take a westward track.
Right now, if we see any impacts of this storm it wouldn't be likely until at least this Friday or Saturday. If it does form into a tropical depression or storm, it will be named Barry.
