"So you better get ready

We may be comin' to your town"

Well, The Monkees aren't coming to OUR town, but the surviving members of the Monkees, Mickey Dolenz, Peter Tork and Michael Nesmith are about to hit the road for a series of concerts.

When Davy Jones was alive, the Monkees actually took to the road quite a bit. Michael Nesmith was usually not part of the tour, preferring to concentrate on solo projects. It was not a bitter "count me out" or anything like that. Nesmith doesn't have to tour and he is constantly involved in a variety of projects.

The death of Davy Jones has shone the spotlight on the Monkees once again and the trio...Including Nesmith, has announced a series of concert dates starting in November.

According to an official "Monkees"  press release, the band concert goers can expect to see   “a selection of classic hits, deep cuts from their first five platinum albums — including some performed for the first time since the ’60s — and fan favorites from the soundtrack to their cult film classic ‘Head.’ The concerts will incorporate a full multimedia presentation including rare films and one-of-a-kind photographs. The show will also include a tribute to Jones.
