High School Student Dies After ‘Freak Accident’ in Gym Class

This is so sad.

A high school student has died after suffering a catastrophic injury while in his gym class.

KREM reports that a 16-year-old high school student in Washington state died after he fell on a goal post in gym class.

Brayden Bahme fell on the goal post and was impaled in the eye. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died.

There aren't many more details about this freak accident that took the life of the teenage student, but his family has set up a GoFundMe to assist with funeral expenses.

So far, close to $30,000 has been donated for funeral expenses, with the rest reportedly going to a youth fishing program in Bahme’s memory.

School officials said counselors are available on campus for students and staff during this difficult time. Our thoughts are with them during this very difficult time.

The school that Brayden attended held a candlelight vigil last night in his memory.
