Stine has announced pay raises for its 800 employees and a promise to keep their stores safe for their customers and employees.

David Stine, V.P. of Marketing/Merchandising for Stine Home & Yard said:

The governor’s stay-at-home order has prompted all of us to make sure, now more than ever, that our homes are truly safe havens...we value our position in the community as an essential retailer, and will remain open to provide the products people need for their homes.

Stine CEO Dennis Stine said:

This is a difficult and unprecedented time for us all and it has placed added stress on our team members...as a result, Stine is instituting supplemental pay, or as we call it, ‘Pat-On-The-Back Pay,’ which is a temporary $2 per hour wage increase for all associates working during this crisis while under the stay-at-home order from March 24 - April 30.

Also, Stine has made a promise to their customers to come up with safer alternatives to shop at their stores. Customers who would prefer a contact-free curbside pickup service can do so by shopping over 40,000 products at Stinehome.com.

Lowe's is filing suit by offering their employees a two dollar an hour pay raise.

Lowe's CEO Marvin Ellison said:

I’m announcing these new operational changes as we continue to keep the health and well-being of our associates and customers top of mind, especially as they look to us now more than ever for essential products, services and support. Today’s wage increase for our hourly associates is just another way I want to thank our 300,000 associates for their heroic actions in serving the needs of our communities. I’ve never been prouder of our team, and they have my commitment that we will continue to adjust as the situation evolves.

It's great to see these companies taking care of their employees and realizing they are on the front lines so to speak with helping the public.
