Let's face it, for Louisiana, it's been a pretty darn cold winter. We had two winter storms back to back and I'm pretty sure everyone is more than ready for warmer weather.

Here's some good news about all this cold weather: You might actually lose weight!

According to a new study out of the University of Sydney in Australia, when we shiver, we burn calories. In fact, shivering for about 10 to 15 minutes a day can burn as many calories and an hour of average exercise!

It seems that there is this stuff in our bodies called 'brown fat' and the shivering causes our bodies to produce more of this calorie burning fat. A fat that burns fat? Get ready for 'brown fat' to become the new health and diet buzzword.

There you go! Turn off the heater and lose weight. Pneumonia probably causes weight loss as well.
