Second Business Victim of Car Crash — Driver Gets 3rd DWI
It's unusual for a car to crash through a building at all, but two times in one weekend is just insane. Not only was Leonard's Food Quarters the site of such a crash, but Sunday morning another driver crashed his vehicle into Trahan's Hardware on Common Street.
Sgt. James Anderson, of the Louisiana State Police Troop D, said 26-year-old Justin W. Guillard drove a 2011 Ford F-150 pickup truck off of La. 385 (Common Street), through a parking lot and into the front wall of a business in the early morning hours on Sunday causing significant damage. Luckily, the building was not occupied at the time so there were no injuries.
Guillard did submit to a breath test and it was found that his blood alcohol level was 2 1/2 times the legal limit. As a result, Guilllard has been charged with third-offense DWI, careless operation, driving with a suspended driver's license and open alcoholic beverage container.
