They didn't get their man, but the New Orleans Saints put in a waiver claim for a 7-time Pro Bowler on Monday.

The team put in a waiver claim for defensive end Terrell Suggs.

The Saints, along with the Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, and Seattle Seahawks all put in claims, but the Chiefs won it, due to the fact that their record isn't currently as good as the other three.

If a player is not claimed off waivers, he becomes a free agent.

The Saints are still looking for help on the defensive line after losing defensive end Marcus Davenport and defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins to season-ending injuries.

The 37-year old Suggs was waived by the Arizona Cardinals last week.

A 17-year veteran who spent the first 16 years of his career with the Baltimore Ravens, Suggs, a 7-time Pro Bowler, and the 2011 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, has compiled 138 career sacks, which currently ranks 9th in NFL history.
