Saints Overcome 1st Half Woes To Defeat The Chargers
It was a sunny day in California as the New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Chargers met up in the 2nd preseason game. While it wasn't all sunshine for the Saints throughout the game, they were able to come away with the victory as they defeated the Chargers 19-17.
It was a tale of two halves for the Saints as they struggled to get anything going and that included Teddy Bridgewater who wasn't as sharp as he was in the first preseason game. He finished 5 of 12 for 40 yards and an interception. The Saints had 76 total yards in the first half while the Chargers had 195 total yards. They also had only 1 first down and 2 turnovers.
It was a different story in the 2nd half as the Saints were able to make adjustments and move the ball really well. Taysom Hill who played the entire 2nd half was the bright spot as he helped guide the Saints to the win. He finished 11 of 15 and threw for 136 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also added 53 rushing yards including a dazzling run. The Saints finished the game with 324 total yards. The Saints will continue the preseason next Saturday when they travel to face off against the Jets with a 6:30 kickoff.
