Saints First Preseason Game To Be Televised Locally In Lake Charles
Get ready Saints fans because football is back! That's right, the NFL is getting ready this week to kick off the 2022 preseason with a ton of games starting on Thursday.
The NFL preseason will get underway this Thursday, August 11th with two games set to kick off. The New York Giants will take on the New England Patriots and the Tennessee Titans will face the Baltimore Ravens. The Giants/Patriots game will be televised on the NFL Network.
For the Saints, they won't see action until this Saturday evening. The Saints will start the 2022 preseason and regular season with a new head coach for the first time since 2006. Dennis Allen takes over for Sean Payton who retired at the end of last season.
The Saints will be looking to be successful as soon as the season starts. Their first test will be this Saturday evening when they travel to Houston to take on the Houston Texans. The Texans are also undergoing a rebuild as they lost their starting quarterback Deshaun Watson who left to play for the Cleveland Browns.
As of right now bearing injury, The Saints will have Jameis Winston as the starting quarterback for the black and gold this season. It was reported yesterday however that Winston left training camp and it was reported that he tweaked his foot and they wanted him to get evaluated.
Also, the good news for the Saints is they will be getting back Michael Thomas at wide receiver. He was out almost all of last year with an injury.
The Saints and Texans game will kick off at 7:00 pm from NRG Stadium in Houston. The game will not be televised nationally but it will, however, be televised locally here in Southwest Louisiana and Lake Charles.
The game will be televised on KPLC TV channel 7 but on cable, it's channel 9. Get ready for some football guys and gals, because it's back!
