July 10, 1965, The Rolling Stones (who took their name from a Muddy Waters song) hit #1 on the Billboard chart with their hit, "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction."  Here's a live performance of their first hit which sat at #1 on the charts for 4 weeks.
