While this might not be the most opportune time for this to happen, I am giving you a few days notice. Starting on July 27, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced their plans for the replacement of two bridges on LA 27 (Beglis Parkway) south of I-10 in Calcasieu Parish near Sulphur.

Each bridge will be completely closed to traffic during construction but will not be closed simultaneously. However, this could mean things will potentially be backed up from drivers looking for alternate routes to get to their destinations.

The bridge between East Moss Lane and Sunny Wood Drive will be closed and replaced first. Work is expected to begin on July 2. Following the completion of the first bridge, construction will begin on the bridge between Sunny Wood Drive and Ravia Road. An announcement will be made on the closure date of the southernmost bridge as soon as the information is available.

Crews will remove the existing bridges and install new bridges, guardrails, and pavement markings. The project is expected to be complete later this year and is contingent on the weather.

Motorists may use I-10, LA 1256, and LA 108 as detours. Please be patient during this time, as they will work as diligently and quickly as possible to get things back to normal.
