Rick Springfield was born in Australia on August 23, 1949, and learned how to play guitar when he was just 13 years old. Music quickly became his passion. In the early 1970s, he moved to the United States to chase his dream. That move paid off big time when he signed with Capitol Records in 1973.
Over the past 40 years, Springfield has become one of the biggest stars of the 1980s. He has sold more than 25 million albums and recorded 17 Top 40 hits in the U.S. His biggest songs include “Jessie’s Girl,” “Don’t Talk to Strangers,” “I’ve Done Everything for You,” and “Love Is Alright Tonight.” These are the songs fans will be singing along to all night long.
