Retrieving Rat [VIDEO]

I know ... you hear the word "rat", and go "eww." I have to admit that I had no idea they could be trained to fetch. It's just one more thing I was wrong about.

My question is who spends that much time with a pet rat. I worry about that person. I also worry about the cat in this video. Aren't cats supposed to try to eat rats? I wonder how the cat would treat the rat if there was no person around. Cats are sneaky like that. Anybody named "Willard" in this video?
