Rapid COVID-19 Testing Available In SWLA

SWLA residents can now get results from their COVID-19 tests back in as little as fifteen minutes at two local clinics.

Fast Pace Health Clinics will be offering the Abbott’s ID NOW COVID-19 rapid molecular point-of-care tests, which will allow patients to get their results before the end of their visit to the clinic.

Dr. Paul Southall, MD, the chief medical officer at Fast Pace Health told the American Press that the tests are very accurate. He said if you're traveling for work or the holidays, you can get your test results now rather than not knowing for weeks if you are positive or negative.

The rapid tests are now available at two Fast Pace Health Clinic locations:

• 1429 Beglis Parkway in Sulphur
• 2640 Country Club Road in Lake Charles

Southall did say that the tests are in limited supply, so only patients showing COVID-19 symptoms outlined by CDC guidelines will be administered a rapid test.
