President Trump Makes Animal Cruelty A Federal Felony
President Trump signed a bill that now makes animal cruelty a federal felony.
The Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture (PACT) Act, a bipartisan bill, was signed into law Monday afternoon. It criminalizes certain acts of animal cruelty.
Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa. said on Monday:
Evidence shows that the deranged individuals who harm animals often move on to committing acts of violence against people. It is appropriate that the federal government have strong animal cruelty laws and penalties.
I support this 100%. You have to be a very dark and soulless human being to intentionally hurt an animal. And now if you do it, you could spend hard time in a federal prison...I'm all about that.
