President Joe Biden Tests Positive For COVID-19 – Symptoms Mild

Thursday morning White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, announced that President Joe Biden tested positive for COVID-19. The POTUS is fresh off his trip to the Middle East. There is no telling how or where he came in contact with the newest and highly contagious COVID-19 variant.

Fortunately, Biden is vaccinated and has received a boost which is why his "symptoms are mild" according to the Press Secretary. The CDC reported that the Omicron variant is behind the surge in COVID-19 cases, which has led to hospitalizations, and some deaths up here in the U.S. and around the globe.

Of course, there are far fewer deaths and hospitalizations since the pandemic began nearly 2 1/2 years ago, but the new COVID-19 variant is very much on the rise. So, people need to mask up in crowded spaces and wash and sanitize their hands often. Jean-Pierre reported that Biden

“will isolate at the White House and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time. He has been in contact with members of the White House staff by phone this morning, and will participate in his planned meetings at the White House this morning via phone and Zoom from the residence.”

The 46th President received the Pfizer vaccine shortly after taking office and has received two boosters, the first in September 2021 and the 2nd March 30, 2022, White House Press Secretary said Biden, 79, has begun taking the antiviral drug Paxlovid, designed to reduce severe symptoms. We wish him a speedy recovery.
