As more and more brick and mortar retail stores are closing, it seems that restaurants are not far behind in 2019. Pizza Hut, which is owned by Yum! Brands, have announced that at least 500 dine in locations are closing in the United States. Yum! also owns Taco Bell and KFC, and they are not saying at this time which restaurants will be shuttered, but that it will be stores that are 'low volume'. According to a company statement in Food Business News, they want to increase the company focus on delivery and carryout.

David W. Gibbs, who is president, chief operating officer, and chief financial officer for Yum! Brands, says there are currently 6,100 Pizza Hut locations that are traditional restaurants, and 1,350 express stores in the USA. The closures would bring the total to 7,000 locations nationwide.

I hate to see so many people losing jobs when these stores close down. Hoping none of these closures will be in the Acadiana area.
