WWE has resurrected their "In Your House" pay-per-view brand for a new generation. This time, the name will be used for their third brand, NXT.

NXT originally debuted as, and still kind of acts like, WWE's developmental brand. Where new wrestlers, or recently signed independent wrestlers, would train for in-ring competition, and TV work. But over the last few years, that model evolved, and now NXT is a strong third brand for WWE, to go along with Monday Night Raw, and Smackdown.

Recently, NXT has even moved to a nationally televised weekly show on Wednesday nights. Creating a true placement as WWE's third brand.

But NXT isn't all development and weekly TV. The brand has had a pretty strong run of pay-per-view style events on the WWE Network. They've been branded as "Takeover" events since their inception. They regularly follow major WWE events around the country, but sometimes, NXT runs their own independent events. This will be one of those.

The "In Your House" title has been used by WWE plenty before. In May of 1995, the WWF (now WWE) forever changed the landscape of professional wrestling when they introduced the In Your House concept. Until then, WWE had only held a maximum of 5 pay-per-view (or PPV) and closed-circuit TV events in a year. The roster of major events had Wrestlemania on top, with other major shows like the Royal Rumble, Summer Slam, and Survivor Series on the list. These were known as The Big Four. WWE had mixed in King of the Ring in 1993 and 1994 to hit a total of 5 events.

Once In Your Houses started, WWE was able to move to a 12-month model. But the brand identity was dropped in 1999. Until now, when NXT has resurrected it for this event.

On June 7th, 2020, NXT Takeover In Your House will feature the following matches:
