Texas Governor Greg Abbott has singed an executive order that will allow travelers from Louisiana and New Orleans to cross the state line with no restrictions beginning this Friday, May 1.

A mandatory quarantine was put into place back in April for people coming from Louisiana into Texas. This made it difficult for many who travel back and forth between the two states, due to checkpoints.

The governor order will terminate the need to quarantine if coming from Louisiana to Texas, but the order did not exactly mention the removal of checkpoints between the state lines. The executive order does state that anyone entering the state from these states will still be subject to the mandatory fourteen day quarantine: California, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Washington. The order also includes travelers from the following cities: Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, and Miami.
