Over the last few months, Cameron Parish has been hit especially hard by recent hurricanes due its unique location along the Gulf. However, it's because of the parish's ideal spot on the Louisiana map that it will soon be the site of a new recreation destination. Robert Kidder, heading up the development of Lighthouse Bend, told KPLC the project is a joint venture between Cameron Parish and Venture Global LNG.

Kidder explained 58 acres were donated by Venture Global to create the unique visitor destination, with plenty of recreational highlights for residents to enjoy, as well. The new complex will include amenities like a 100-seat restaurant, RV Park, Boardwalk, Marina, Market Place, and more. Lighthouse Bend will be located near the LNG plant along the ship channel in downtown Cameron.

Construction on the new attraction will begin before the end of the year, and it's scheduled to open in the fall of 2021. For more information and to view a 360 tour of the forthcoming destination, check out their website at lighthousebend.com.
